The book “Handbook of Dialysis Technology” is a simple book to enable paramedical healthcare workers involved in dialysis to understand the basics and have a sound fundamental knowledge of the subject. Unless this is achieved, advancements in dialysis science and high quality delivery of care will be difficult to comprehend. Thousands of dialysis units will open up in the country over the next few years as the incidence and prevalence of chronic kidney disease is increasing. The quality of life of patients in dialysis depends on the quality of dialysis which in turn depends on the skill and knowledge of the personnel handling the procedures as well as the infrastructure available. Being a lifesaving procedure, there is no scope for any pitfalls. This can be achieved only by knowing the fundamentals, periodically updating the knowledge and learning the recent advances, which will enable the paramedical team to achieve greater heights. This book aims to achieve these goals by helping to lay a sound foundation.
